John Miller Obituary

John P. Miller, 79, of Salina, passed away on February 23, 2026. He was born in Salina Kansas, on February 14, 1947, to Paul and Maxine Lola “Evans” Miller.

John attended Central High School and Marymount College in Salina Kansas. John served in the Navy in 1969 where he met his loving wife Araceli Miller in the Philippines. He brought Araceli and her children to the United States with him to start a life together. He coached baseball for many years watching his kids, grandkids, great grandkids and even great-great grandkids play the sport. John was always coaching, cheering, and celebrating his family in baseball.

John ended up taking over his father’s business Miller’s Market, which was founded in 1947. He was involved with the VFW and part of the American Legion where he had many gathering and parties with his family and friends.

He ran for county commissioner twice, and for many years he and his family were very dedicated to selling fireworks in the Salina Community. He had a bail bonding company with many adventures, John never slowed down, always stayed busy trying to think of what new thing to do next. He always made sure to show his love for his animals, especially his dog. And his love and dedication for his family and many friends.

John is preceded by his parents Paul and Maxine Miller, brother Paul Miller Jr.; daughter Mary Ann Miller; granddaughter Wilma; great granddaughter Katelynn Hubbard; and great-great grandson Tadyn Johnson.

He is survived by his wife Araceli Sally Miller of 54 years, their 7 children together, Willie Dimaplas (Barbara) of Salina, KS, Jane Kinney (David deceased) of Salina, KS, Maria Hansen (Chad) of Salina, KS, Rudy of Hutchinson, KS, John Paul Miller (Jamie) of Salina, KS, and Ferdinand Miller (Erika) of Salina, KS. 23 grandkids, 11 great grandkids, and 5 great-great grandkids. John is also survived by his siblings Mary Olson, Joe Miller (Kathy), Karen Man (Marvin) and Tommy Miller

A visitation will be 4-8 pm on Monday March 2, 2026, at Ryan Mortuary, Salina, KS. The Funeral Service will be 10 am on Tuesday March 3, 2026, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Salina, KS. Followed by burial at Gypsum Hill Cemetery in Salina.
